Navjot Singh Sidhu will lead a new political party in Punjab. The name of this party’s Awaz-E-Punjab, where assembly elections will be held early next year.

Navjot Singh Sidhu recently resigned from BJP in July and was in talks to join Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party for weeks. Those reportedly floundered over Sidhu’s demand that he be projected as the party’s candidate for chief minister.

“The front formed by Navjot Singh Sidhu, Pargat Singh and Bains brothers willl be called ‘Aawaaz-e-Punjab’. The ‘Aawaaz-e-Punjab’ will be formally launched next week, reports said.

Aam Admi Party has been actively campaigning in Punjab for the upcoming Assembly elections in 2017. Delhi Chief Minister  Arvind Kejriwal too visited the Harmandar Sahib in Punjab early Monday to offer his apology by performing voluntary service after the party’s ‘Youth Manifesto’ carried a picture of the Golden Temple, along with the AAP election symbol: A broom.
