During the first day, Rustom collections were 14.11 crore rupees from throughout the India. The figures are great for a film which was released with special schedule, of Independence day. During the Second Day, Saturday, there was rain at various locations of India. Because of the rain, the film grows only 10%. The growth earlier expected was 30% at least on weekends. But 16.43 crores rupees figure on the subsequent day was quite fine.
This is actor’s 3rd grand release which also has potential to mark 100 Cr club within 10 days run in Indian box office. The film has registered 4th highest opener of the year after Sultan, Fan and Housefull 3. Audience could not stop themselves footing to theaters over the weekend. The huge crowed have been seen since the morning shows despite Akshay’s 3rd release the reaction of the audience after watching the film looks quite promising which is expected to remain same over the week too. With Rustom it would not wrong to call Akshay as box office Khilladi of Bollywood.

Rustom collection – Worldwide total – 105 crores
In the Rustom vs Mohenjo Daro box office battle, the winner has already been announced. It is clearly Akshay Kumar’s Rustom, which has already raced ahead of Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro. The courtroom drama has earned Rs 68.23 crore within four days of its release and is likely to enter the Rs 100-crore club within this week. With Wednesday being a bank holiday and Thursday a day off on account of Rakshabandhan, the festive weekend is clearly working in the favour of the film. Hrithik Roshan’s film may have over Rs 40 crore in its kitty but is hoping to build on the upcoming weekend.
